Software Engineering Manager II - Transaction Platform

About the role

Join Grab's Transaction Platform team as a Software Engineering Manager II, leading a group of 10+ engineers responsible for the end‑to‑end transaction lifecycle for millions of merchants. Based onsite in Singapore, you will balance hands‑on technical work with people management to deliver reliable, scalable services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain highly available, scalable services for the Transaction Platform.
• Evaluate and adopt technology stacks to improve performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with product, design, analytics and data‑science leaders to shape roadmaps, define merchant‑focused metrics and run experiments.
• Set engineering strategy, mentor junior and senior engineers, and grow into broader technical leadership.
• Participate in code and design reviews to uphold high development standards.
• Lead interview loops to attract top engineering talent.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in distributed systems, delivering large‑scale, highly available online services.
• 2+ years of experience as a software engineering manager with a hands‑on technical role.
• Experience using AI tools or emerging technologies to boost productivity.
• Strong computer‑science fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, system performance and scaling.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• Willingness to work with Golang and any other programming language.
