Trainee Broker – Sale & Purchase (Singapore)

About the role

Join Clarksons' Sale & Purchase team in Singapore as a Trainee Broker. You will work closely with experienced brokers, supporting day‑to‑day operations and gaining exposure to the global maritime market.

Key responsibilities

• Assist brokers with daily activities on the Sale & Purchase desk.
• Manage internal data flow and maintain market information databases.
• Prepare market reports and presentations for colleagues and clients.
• Support marketing initiatives and client outreach, especially in China.
• Help draft and execute Sale & Purchase contracts, ensuring familiarity with contract forms.
• Stay informed on strategic directions of key clients and emerging shipping market trends.
• Build and nurture relationships with existing clients while proactively seeking new business opportunities.
• Participate in meetings and respond to internal and external queries.

Required profile

• Fresh or entry‑level candidate with a strong interest in shipbroking.
• Self‑motivated, driven and able to thrive in a fast‑paced commercial environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to develop relationships with clients across Asia, particularly China.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
