Accountant – Build Finance Function in Textile Start‑Up

About the role

Join a newly created joint venture in the textile and apparel industry and take charge of building the finance function from the ground up. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and global partners, playing a pivotal role in the company’s growth phase.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full spectrum of accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations across related entities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants and external service providers.
• Support the design and enhancement of finance processes, controls and reporting frameworks as the business scales.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of accounting and finance experience, preferably handling full sets of accounts.
• Strong understanding of month‑end close, financial reporting and statutory compliance.
• Experience with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑growing, evolving environment.
• Comfortable partnering with senior stakeholders and supporting business growth initiatives.
• Prior exposure to textile, retail or start‑up environments is advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Mandarin for communication with Mandarin‑speaking stakeholders.
