Accountant – Vessel & Shipping Finance

About the role

Fleet Ship Management is seeking a dedicated Accountant to support daily vessel accounting operations across its global fleet. You will work closely with internal finance teams and external owners to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely fund transfers.

Key responsibilities

• Handle vessel accounting, including portage bill processing and AR/AP management.
• Raise fund requests to vessel owners, monitor receipts, and arrange inter‑company fund transfers.
• Prepare full‑set vessel reports with supporting documentation and meet reporting deadlines.
• Coordinate with other functions to compile complete reports and respond to owner queries.
• Assist in reconciling inter‑company vessel balances and provide MIS data to supervisors.
• Support SOX audit activities and prepare audit schedules for year‑end audits.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of solid accounting experience, preferably handling vessel reports.
• Graduate or higher diploma in Accountancy, Business, or a related field.
• Effective decision‑making, problem‑solving, and collaborative teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of vessel accounting and portage bill accounting.
• Experience with inter‑company fund transfers and reconciliation.
• Familiarity with MIS reporting and SOX audit support.
