Assistant Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to become a key pillar of our finance operations. You will work closely with commercial, retail, AR/AP and cross‑functional finance teams to ensure accurate financial records, robust internal controls, and timely reporting across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Handle daily transactional accounting, including journal entries, postings and general‑ledger reconciliations.
• Execute month‑end and period‑end closes, preparing accruals, trial‑balance reviews and variance analyses.
• Maintain records for inventory, fixed assets, rent and major operating expenses.
• Partner with Business Planning & Control on expense reviews and analysis.
• Enforce company policies, internal controls and GAAP/IFRS standards.
• Prepare documentation for internal/external audits, statutory reporting and tax compliance.
• Utilise ERP systems and finance tools to streamline accounting and reporting workflows.
• Prepare schedules, bank reconciliations and reports for management and group reporting.
• Support cost allocations, revenue recognition, inventory accounting and provide data to FP&A and commercial teams.
• Assist with accounts receivable activities, billing, collections, deposits and credit management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (CPA/ACCA preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in an accounting or audit role.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Independent, adaptable team player able to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Fluent English with strong cross‑functional communication skills.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP or finance systems.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and internal controls.
