Assistant Director – Business Operations (Finance, Marketing & Strategy)

About the role

NTU is seeking a dynamic, strategic professional to serve as Assistant Director, Business Operations. The role supports the Institute’s Director in shaping strategy, driving industry partnerships, and overseeing finance, marketing and communications initiatives across the university.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director in defining and executing medium‑ and long‑term strategies to strengthen Singapore’s international trading ecosystem.
• Identify and develop strategic growth opportunities, partnerships and new initiatives.
• Lead corporate and government engagement, fostering industry collaboration, experiential learning and ecosystem development.
• Oversee student, alumni and talent programmes that enhance engagement, career readiness and mentorship.
• Ensure financial sustainability by cultivating corporate funding, managing contribution agreements and aligning donor activities with strategic priorities.
• Provide strategic direction for communications, branding and media outreach, managing reputational risk and public positioning.
• Conceptualise and support high‑impact events, executive engagements and stakeholder outreach.

Required profile

• Proven experience in strategic planning and execution within an academic or research‑focused environment.
• Strong track record of building and managing partnerships with government agencies, corporate partners and industry stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead fundraising and financial sustainability initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills with experience in branding, media relations and public engagement.
• Capability to work closely with senior leadership and influence cross‑functional teams.
