Associate/Assistant Professor – Microbiome

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine is seeking a tenure‑track Associate or Assistant Professor to lead research and teaching in the emerging field of the microbiome. The successful candidate will join the Microbiome Medicine Research Programme and contribute to the School’s strategic research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and sustain an independent research programme in microbiome science or microbial bioinformatics, including grant acquisition and publication in high‑impact journals.
• Teach undergraduate MBBS courses and postgraduate research modules, employing team‑based learning and e‑learning approaches.
• Integrate microbiology content into the medical curriculum and supervise undergraduate and graduate students.
• Collaborate with faculty across LKCMedicine and the wider NTU community on interdisciplinary projects.
• Mentor junior faculty and research staff, and contribute to academic committees.

Required profile

• PhD in microbiology, bioinformatics, or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to obtain competitive research funding.
• Strong record of peer‑reviewed publications in microbiome or related fields.
• Experience in teaching medical or graduate students.
