C++ Software Engineer – Exchange Trading Development

About the role

XTX Markets is seeking a C++ Software Engineer to join its Exchange Trading Development (ETD) team. You will help turn quantitative research ideas into high‑performance trading technology that processes market data, manages orders, and runs on specialised hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain low‑latency C++ components that interpret market data and dispatch orders.
• Collaborate with Quant Research to implement new trading ideas.
• Choose and optimise hardware and infrastructure for maximum performance.
• Participate in both small‑scale bug fixes and large‑scale system upgrades.
• Ensure the trading platform is ready for daily market sessions across multiple exchanges.

• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a passion for high‑frequency trading systems.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment where timely issue resolution is critical.
• Team‑oriented attitude and willingness to collaborate across research, development, and operations.
