Conflicts Attorney

About the role

Gibson Dunn is seeking a Conflicts Attorney to join its London or Singapore office. The role focuses on conflict clearance for new clients, matters, and lateral hires, ensuring compliance with the firm’s risk‑management policies.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze conflict‑of‑interest reports for new representations and lateral attorney hires.
• Resolve conflict issues, obtain waivers, and draft ethics‑wall memoranda.
• Review new‑matter information for policy and professional‑responsibility compliance, including engagement‑letter edits.
• Communicate complex conflict matters to partners and management.
• Assess client outside‑counsel guidelines and firm compliance.
• Supervise Resolution Analysts and conduct staff orientation on matter‑approval processes.
• Collaborate with partners, the professional‑responsibility committee, and information‑governance teams to maintain screening restrictions.
• Maintain accurate records of conflict resolutions and related communications.
• Develop practice‑area‑specific conflict templates and perform corporate research as needed.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of conflict‑of‑interest principles under professional‑responsibility rules across multiple jurisdictions.
• Proven experience analyzing conflicts of interest in a law‑firm environment.
• Ability to draft waivers, ethics‑wall memos, and compliance documentation.
