About the role
Our client, a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing, is seeking a Controller, Inventory & Cost Control to strengthen inventory governance, cost discipline and working capital management across its manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Finance Director, the role ensures accurate inventory accounting, controls and reporting while partnering closely with Manufacturing Finance, Procurement Finance, FP&A and Operations.
Key responsibilities
- Own end‑to‑end inventory accounting and reconciliation across raw materials, work‑in‑progress and finished goods in SAP.
- Lead month‑end and quarter‑end close activities related to inventory, including journal entries, P&L review and management reporting.
- Monitor and control WIP, scrap, internal activity, freight and logistics costs, resolving variances promptly.
- Proactively manage excess and obsolete inventory, including risk identification, provisioning, utilization and write‑offs.
- Drive inventory integrity and controls such as cycle counts, physical inventories and SOX‑compliant processes.
- Prepare and consolidate inventory, working capital and operations reporting using Power BI and BlackLine.
- Partner with Manufacturing Finance, Procurement Finance, FP&A, Business Units and Operations to support decision‑making and working capital optimisation.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with IFRS, company policies and control requirements.
- Identify and lead process improvements to enhance inventory reporting, reconciliation and control efficiency.
Required profile
- Degree in Accounting or Finance; ACCA, CPA or CMA preferred.
- 6–8 years of finance or controlling experience with strong exposure to manufacturing or operations finance.
- Solid understanding of inventory accounting, cost control and manufacturing cost flows.
- Experience in the semiconductor industry or a comparable high‑tech manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
- Hands‑on experience with SAP in a manufacturing context (S/4HANA preferred).
- Strong analytical capabilities using Power BI and Tableau.
