Engineering Manager, Digital Economy Products

About the role

GovTech is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead one or more cross‑functional squads within its Digital Economy Products division. The role combines technical leadership with people management to deliver high‑impact public‑sector software that supports Singapore’s Smart Nation vision.

Key responsibilities

• Lead agile squads of Engineers, Product Managers and Designers to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Own the technical design and architecture of software products, ensuring security, scalability, performance and maintainability.
• Mentor and coach team members, raising product engineering competency across the squad.
• Establish coding standards, best practices and development processes, and drive adoption of modern tools and technologies.
• Identify and mitigate technical debt and risks while balancing feature delivery.
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, provide technical context and remove blockers.

Required profile

• 7‑12 years of software engineering experience building large, high‑availability systems at scale.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire technical teams in an agile environment.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with product and design stakeholders.
• Track record of delivering secure, performant, and maintainable software solutions.
