Material Planner – 1 Year Contract

About the role

Thales is seeking a Material Planner on a 1‑year contract to support the Singapore Card and Module Assembly production lines. You will be responsible for ensuring a continuous supply of raw materials, consumables, and ad‑hoc items such as wristbands and card bodies, enabling uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan inventory levels and trigger timely stock replenishment.
• Determine purchase quantities using lead‑time and safety‑stock rules and generate purchase requisitions.
• Monitor just‑in‑time (JIT) items and initiate deliveries when stock falls below thresholds.
• Validate material availability for new customer orders released to production.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing team to expedite or defer deliveries as needed.
• Track supplier deliveries to ensure on‑time material availability.
• Manage material substitution, phase‑in/phase‑out, and new item creation.
• Identify slow‑moving or ageing inventory and implement mitigation actions.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Management or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in material planning or inventory control.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
