Public Health Officer / Senior Public Health Officer (Healthcare Epidemiology)

About the role

The Senior/Public Health Officer supports senior leadership in investigating disease outbreaks and designing prevention strategies to protect the health of Singaporeans. The role involves rapid response, surveillance, policy development, and collaboration with healthcare institutions, especially in the long‑term care sector.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct epidemiological investigations of disease outbreaks in hospitals, nursing homes, and social care homes.
• Propose, implement, and evaluate control measures to break chains of transmission.
• Engage and collaborate with government agencies (e.g., MOH, MSF) and sector leads to develop and review policies and SOPs.
• Prepare regular epidemiological situation reports and after‑action reviews for senior management.
• Provide professional inputs, FAQs, and media responses on infectious disease matters.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders during outbreak investigations.

Required profile

• Experience in formulating evidence‑based policies for infectious disease control.
• Ability to evaluate existing control measures and recommend improvements.
• Strong collaboration skills with multiple government and healthcare stakeholders.
• Willingness to work onsite for outbreak investigations, including PPE training and required immunisations.
