Research Fellow – Representation Theory of Algebras

About the role

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences at NTU Singapore seeks a Research Fellow to join Dr. Kay Jin Lim’s group. The position focuses on advancing the representation theory of finite‑dimensional algebras and its links to homological algebra, algebraic geometry, and algebraic combinatorics.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and conduct original research in representation theory of finite‑dimensional algebras.
• Explore interdisciplinary connections with homological algebra, algebraic geometry, and combinatorics.
• Prepare research papers, reports and conference presentations.
• Participate in regular team meetings and collaborative projects.
• Co‑supervise graduate students and contribute to departmental activities.

Required profile

• PhD in Mathematics or a closely related discipline.
• Strong background in representation theory of finite‑dimensional algebras or related fields.
• Proven ability to formulate problems, develop rigorous proofs and publish research.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a research team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with mathematical software such as Magma, GAP or SageMath.
