Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Pratt & Whitney is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to drive the development of AI‑powered digital inspection solutions for jet engines. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services that support a global aftermarket network. The role is hybrid, collaborating with engineering, product, AI, and business teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend features using Python, FastAPI, and MongoDB on Azure.
• Develop, document, and maintain RESTful APIs that power the inspection platform.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability of backend services.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and developer tooling.
• Participate in Agile, data‑driven development cycles and code reviews.
• Identify and resolve architectural risks and performance bottlenecks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in Python backend development for SaaS products.
• Proven ability to work in international, high‑ownership teams.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for AI‑driven solutions.
