Senior / Facilities Technician

About the role

Raffles Hotel Singapore, a historic 19th-century hotel, is hiring a Senior / Facilities Technician. The role covers daily engineering and plant operations to support hotel operations, including equipment operation, preventive maintenance, shift work and emergency support.

Key responsibilities

• Operate equipment to provide room temperature, clean and hot water, and clear TV and satellite images to guest suites, and AV support for events
• Support the emergency operations team during emergencies and crises
• Fix equipment and facility breakdowns, replace faulty components and lighting bulbs, and respond promptly to guests' technical requests
• Collect daily utility meter readings and check that plant and equipment are operating properly
• Patrol hotel grounds to check fire and safety risks and that lighting runs on preset timings
• Perform preventive maintenance, repair damaged furniture and repaint defective building surfaces
• Operate elevators, dumbwaiters, swimming pool, water fountains, fire protection, drainage and sanitary systems, and lighting and dimming systems
• Support corporate initiatives such as CSR and diversity and inclusion, and perform other assigned duties

Required profile

• Nitec certificate in Building Facilities Maintenance, Electrical / Electronics, Air Conditioning Servicing and/or Plumbing
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and detailed engineering knowledge
• Service-oriented professionalism, strong communicator, team player, able to set priorities and adapt to change
