Senior Software Engineer – Mobile Trading Systems

About the role

Gemini is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development of mobile‑first trading experiences. You will work on a high‑performance, real‑time trading platform that spans crypto, equities, and prediction markets, delivering order entry, portfolio management, and market data UI on React Native and native iOS/Android.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain end‑to‑end mobile trading flows, including market browsing, order placement, portfolio views, and settlement.
• Architect performant, real‑time UI components for streaming market data such as order books, price charts, and P&L.
• Extend core trading UI components to web using React/TypeScript when cross‑surface functionality is needed.
• Collaborate with backend teams on gRPC, WebSocket, and FIX integrations; contribute backend code in Go, Java, or Scala as required.
• Partner with product and design to shape UX for new contract categories across mobile and web.
• Own projects from design through delivery, making architecture and platform trade‑offs independently.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with significant production mobile development.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and in either Swift or Kotlin.
• Demonstrated ability to build real‑time, data‑intensive user interfaces.
• Comfort picking up backend work in Go, Java, Scala, or similar languages.
• Understanding of communication protocols such as FIX, WebSocket, REST, gRPC, or GraphQL.
• Independent decision‑maker capable of acting decisively based on domain expertise.
