Systems Engineer

About the role

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the administration and operation of multiple high‑performance computing (HPC) Linux clusters in Singapore. You will work closely with software and desktop engineers to support AI/DL applications and assist researchers in developing, debugging, and optimizing HPC workloads.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and operate several HPC Linux clusters, including storage, networking, and associated system software.
• Manage parallel file systems, HPC cluster management tools, and job scheduler software.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating systems, and networking issues.
• Collaborate with software engineers to support AI/DL workloads.
• Provide guidance to researchers on HPC application development, debugging, optimization, and parallelization.
• Supervise end‑user HPC usage and deliver production support for HPC applications.
• Conduct training sessions for researchers, post‑docs, and university students on HPC tools and best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience managing large‑scale HPC systems.
• Strong understanding of performance optimization techniques for HPC environments.
• Experience advising researchers on HPC application development and optimization.

Required skills

• Administration of HPC Linux clusters.
• Parallel file systems and HPC cluster management software.
• HPC job scheduler software.
• Fortran, OpenMP, MPI, C, and C++ programming.
• Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of numerical simulation applications such as climate research, weather forecasting, and aeronautics simulation.
