DC Technician – Data Center Support

About the role

The Data Center (DC) Technician will support the deployment and maintenance of physical infrastructure within our on‑site data centre. The role involves installing, troubleshooting hardware, handling storage devices and working closely with the inventory team.

Key responsibilities

• Support deployment of on‑site data centre physical infrastructure.
• Install, replace and troubleshoot cables and hardware components.
• Handle data‑bearing devices such as hard drives and solid‑state drives.
• Operate within a ticket‑based environment to resolve issues.
• Move equipment using pallet jacks or assisted lifting tools.
• Assist the Data Centre Inventory and Asset Management Team with shipping, receiving and inventory tasks.

Required profile

• ITE Nitec/Higher Nitec or Diploma in IT / Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–2 years experience in IT support and monitoring a data centre environment.
• At least 6 months handling or maintaining technical equipment or machinery.
• Proficient written and oral English communication.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift and work at heights with or without assistance.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
• CompTIA certifications (A+, Server+, Network+).
• Basic Structured Cabling (BSC) knowledge.
• Experience testing Apple iOS and Android mobile applications (advantage).
