Vice President, Business Credit Office

About the role

HSBC is seeking a Vice President to lead the Business Credit Office within its Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) division. The role oversees end‑to‑end credit and capital management, ensuring seamless service for both customers and internal stakeholders while maintaining the bank’s risk standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Business Credit Office tasks in line with agreed OKRs, SLAs and KPIs.
• Own the full credit and capital management servicing journey, driving efficiency and a high‑quality client experience.
• Combine client relationship management with rigorous risk assessment to achieve required credit quality and returns.
• Continuously improve productivity and adopt technology and customer‑experience initiatives aligned with a global CCM operating model.
• Participate in deal discussions and meetings with clients and credit risk teams as required.
• Act as First Line of Defence, adhering to internal controls and implementing audit recommendations.
• Engage constructively with risk partners to balance commercial outcomes and risk management.
• Collaborate with the BCO Team Lead to embed robust credit risk controls and monitoring indicators.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field.
• Relevant corporate lending experience with strong analytical and credit knowledge.
• Deep understanding of financing instruments and wholesale banking products.
• Proven stakeholder‑management ability, capable of influencing senior leaders.
• Clear knowledge of group credit risk principles, policies and statutory compliance.
• Commercial mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
