Acoustics & Vibration Consultant

About the role

AECOM is seeking an Acoustics & Vibration Consultant to support its building and infrastructure projects. The role focuses mainly on acoustics consultancy while also supporting the development of specialist vibration and multiphysics modelling capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake environmental noise assessments, building acoustics and architectural acoustics design
• Carry out noise and vibration modelling, assessments and mitigation design
• Perform structural vibration and structure-borne noise assessments
• Run numerical simulations with COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS or equivalent software
• Prepare technical reports, specifications and design recommendations
• Coordinate with clients, architects and multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Support technical proposals and business development opportunities

Required profile

• Degree in Acoustics, Mechanical, Civil, Structural Engineering or a related discipline
• 3-7 years of relevant consultancy experience in acoustics and vibration
• Practical experience in environmental noise, building acoustics and noise mitigation design
• Ability to deliver technical assessments independently and manage project deliverables
• Preferred: railway and infrastructure noise/vibration assessments, building services noise control, structural-acoustic coupling, model validation against field measurements, and familiarity with Singapore's environmental noise requirements

Required skills

• Proficiency in acoustic modelling software such as SoundPLAN, CadnaA or equivalent
• Knowledge of structural dynamics, vibration transmission and isolation
• Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and multiphysics modelling, preferably with COMSOL Multiphysics
