Assistant Professor of Viral Immunity

About the role

The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine seeks a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Viral Immunity. The appointee will lead internationally competitive research in viral immunity and contribute to the teaching of medical and postgraduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute high‑quality research programmes in viral immunity, securing competitive grants and industry collaborations.
• Supervise and mentor research staff, postdoctoral fellows, and undergraduate/graduate students.
• Develop and deliver innovative teaching modules for the MBBS curriculum and postgraduate programmes, employing team‑based and e‑learning methods.
• Integrate viral immunity science into the medical curriculum and ensure excellence in delivery.
• Participate in academic committees, contribute to interdisciplinary projects, and support the School’s research strategy.

Required profile

• MBBS/MD and/or PhD with relevant postdoctoral or clinical experience.
• Demonstrated record of translational clinical research and high‑impact publications in viral immunity.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and secure research funding.
• Strong communication, presentation, and mentorship skills.
• Experience supervising graduate students to successful PhD completion.
