Assistant Shift Engineer – Solution Preparation (Contract)

About the role

The Assistant Shift Engineer will support the Solution Preparation team in a GMP‑compliant manufacturing environment. You will work on a 12‑hour rotating shift, handling buffer preparation, equipment cleaning, sterilisation, and assembly tasks to ensure smooth production runs.

Key responsibilities

• Execute buffer and solution preparation according to SOPs and batch records, including dispensing, mixing, filtration, and transfer.
• Operate and monitor parts‑washer cycles, verify cleaning, and control clean‑hold times.
• Run autoclave cycles, maintain sterile hold time compliance, and record cycle data.
• Prepare tubing, filters, and other components, ensuring proper labelling and readiness.
• Maintain GDP documentation, perform line clearance, and report any deviations.

Required profile

• Nitec or Diploma in Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of GMP and ability to work in a cleanroom environment.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and a compliance‑focused mindset.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
