Associate, Credit Risk Operations (Underwriting)

About the role

Airwallex, the AI-native financial operating system used by more than 675,000 businesses, is hiring an Associate, Credit Risk Operations (Underwriting) in Singapore. You will conduct credit risk reviews of Airwallex's clients in a team environment, working with merchants, business development teams, transaction risk analysts, compliance and legal departments to support growth while mitigating and managing risk.

Key responsibilities

• Assess a merchant's credibility in onboarding and monitoring by verifying and analysing business information and financial statements
• Provide tailored credit risk recommendations that limit Airwallex's exposure while supporting partner growth
• Prioritise and process incoming applications, checking their accuracy and integrity and registering them accurately and on time
• Deliver insights that support decisions on onboarding strategy, pricing and product launches
• Lead process improvements to help the team meet performance targets and service level agreements
• Give feedback on data, tools and third-party vendors, and help improve policies and procedures

Required profile

• 5 years of relevant experience with knowledge of commercial credit underwriting, financial statement analysis and cash flow forecasting
• Knowledge of merchant acquiring services and the payment processing industry
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and a proactive, fast-paced mindset

Required skills

• Comfortable with complex data and analytics to draw meaningful insights
• An understanding of SQL is preferred
