Calibration Technician – 3‑Month Contract to Permanent, Up to $2700

About the role

This entry‑level position supports a busy laboratory by ensuring all measurement equipment is accurately calibrated and maintained. The role starts as a three‑month contract with the possibility of becoming permanent, offering hands‑on experience with a variety of analytical instruments.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine calibration, adjustment, and performance verification of balances, pipettes, spectrophotometers and chromatography systems.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment malfunctions and replace defective parts as needed.
• Maintain accurate calibration records, reports and certificates in line with ISO standards and internal SOPs.
• Troubleshoot measurement discrepancies and coordinate external servicing or repairs.
• Monitor parts inventory and generate purchase orders to support laboratory operations.

Required profile

• Minimum NITEC or Diploma in Engineering, Science, Laboratory‑related fields, or equivalent.
• Fresh or entry‑level candidates are welcome.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures.

Required skills

• Calibration of balances, pipettes, spectrophotometers and chromatography systems.
• Preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Equipment troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
• Knowledge of ISO standards and SOP compliance.
