Principal/Senior Engineer – Supplier Quality Management (Semiconductor Testing & Burn‑in)

About the role

The role leads the development, implementation and maintenance of a supplier quality management system for wafer‑sort, burn‑in and final‑test suppliers in the automotive semiconductor domain. You will work closely with R&D, technology and operations teams to ensure reliable, high‑quality semiconductor products.

Key responsibilities

• Define and track supplier quality KPIs (yield, PPM, test escapes, reliability failures) and conduct regular business and quality reviews with key partners.
• Plan and execute VDA 6.3 and IATF 16949 audits, ensure compliance with AEC‑Q100 and customer‑specific requirements, and support APQP/PPAP deliverables.
• Lead root‑cause analysis (8D) for test‑related issues, drive containment, corrective actions and permanent solutions at supplier sites.
• Validate supplier readiness for new product introductions, including hardware/software, burn‑in boards, correlation studies and design‑for‑test coverage.
• Define technical requirements for burn‑in and high‑voltage stress testing, manage change (PCN/ECN) and drive continuous improvement toward zero‑defect performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Semiconductor Physics or a related discipline; Six‑Sigma Black Belt or IATF/VDA auditor certification preferred.
• Minimum 7 years experience in semiconductor supplier quality or test engineering, with at least 3 years in an automotive environment.
• Proven track record managing reliability labs, FA support and supplier audits (IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, AEC‑Q100).

Required skills

• Semiconductor test flows, reliability testing and failure analysis methods.
• DFT concepts, scan/ATPG, memory BIST, logic BIST, boundary‑scan/JTAG.
• Burn‑in and high‑voltage stress (HVS) testing, stress‑condition definition and data analysis.
• Automotive core tools: APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA.
• Problem‑solving methodologies (8D, DOE, DMAIC).
