About the role
The Captain (Sophia) leads banquet service operations at The St. Regis Singapore, ensuring seamless execution of group functions, coffee breaks and special events. This full-time, on-site position coordinates between the kitchen, stewards and guests to deliver a high-standard hospitality experience.
Key responsibilities
- Communicate service needs to chefs and stewards throughout functions.
- Calculate total charges for group functions and present checks to group contacts for payment.
- Prepare banquet rooms, restaurants and coffee‑break areas for service, including table settings and centrepiece placement.
- Inspect cleanliness and presentation of china, glass and silver before use.
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and address special dietary requests.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day and follow all company safety and security policies.
- Uphold uniform and personal appearance standards and protect company assets.
- Perform physical tasks such as moving, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 25 lb and standing for extended periods.
Required profile
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant food‑and‑beverage or banquet experience.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- No specific license or certification required.
