Director of People & Culture

About the role

Join Avani's pre‑opening team in Singapore as the Director of People & Culture. You will shape the talent strategy, build an engaged workforce, and embed the brand’s hospitality values from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the People & Culture strategy, aligning it with business goals and brand values.
• Partner with the General Manager and Executive Committee on all people‑related matters.
• Drive pre‑opening recruitment, workforce planning, onboarding, and talent acquisition.
• Design and roll out employee engagement, learning, development, and wellbeing programmes.
• Oversee performance management, succession planning, and talent development.
• Manage compensation, benefits, employee relations, and recognition initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore employment legislation, work‑pass requirements, and statutory obligations.
• Build, mentor, and lead a high‑performing People & Culture team while fostering a positive workplace culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior HR or People & Culture leadership role.
• Proven experience in hotel pre‑opening environments, preferably within international hospitality.
• Strong business partnering, leadership, and stakeholder‑management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fluent in English.
• Deep knowledge of Singapore employment legislation, work‑pass administration and HR best practices.
