Engineering Specialist (Sputter Maintenance)

About the role

You will be responsible for preventive maintenance and product conversion of sputtering tools in a state‑of‑the‑art magnetic media manufacturing environment. The role involves troubleshooting equipment, collaborating with engineering teams on reliability improvements, and applying data analytics and machine‑learning techniques to enhance tool performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and product conversion of sputtering equipment.
• Execute equipment troubleshooting for both electrical and mechanical issues.
• Collaborate with equipment and process engineering to improve reliability, reduce defects, and boost OEE.
• Identify and lead safety, cost‑saving, and productivity improvement projects.
• Utilise data analytics and machine‑learning tools for root‑cause analysis.
• Develop knowledge of vacuum technology and pursue continuous learning.

• Team player with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to work in a clean‑room environment and on a 12‑hour shift pattern.
