Human Resources Specialist – Southeast Asia

About the role

The Human Resources Specialist supports HR operations across Southeast Asia for Applied Medical, a leading medical device company. The role focuses on delivering a positive team‑member experience while ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement of HR processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full employee lifecycle – onboarding, retention, and off‑boarding – for all Southeast Asia locations.
• Maintain accurate HR databases and personnel files, ensuring data integrity and compliance with local employment and data‑protection laws.
• Oversee end‑to‑end payroll operations, including salary processing, statutory compliance, reporting, and resolution of payroll queries.
• Coordinate with external payroll vendors to process employment and leave changes, resolve discrepancies, and communicate updates.
• Administer employee benefits such as leave management, pension arrangements, and benefits enrolment.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for team‑member enquiries, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
• Support HR process‑improvement initiatives and contribute to system and workflow enhancements.
• Facilitate onboarding and off‑boarding activities, track probation periods, and manage clearance and exit formalities.
• Coordinate interview scheduling across multiple Asian time zones using the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and ensure a positive candidate experience.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing HR operations and the employee lifecycle in Southeast Asia.
• Strong knowledge of local employment, payroll, and data‑protection regulations.
• Ability to maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members, managers, and external vendors.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
