International Regulatory Senior Counsel

About the role

We are seeking an International Regulatory Senior Counsel to lead the regulatory and compliance strategy for our cloud and content businesses across Southeast Asia. The role will serve as the primary legal advisor on licensing, statutory registrations and the implementation of new laws, working closely with product, commercial and policy teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own end‑to‑end regulatory and compliance strategies for cloud and content services, including license and permit applications.
• Partner with business units to identify regulatory exposures in product roadmaps, deal structures and go‑to‑market plans, providing practical legal advice.
• Monitor, interpret and operationalise regulatory developments across Southeast Asian jurisdictions, translating them into internal guidance, policies and training.
• Lead responses to regulatory inquiries, administrative reviews, enforcement actions and investigations, coordinating with internal stakeholders, external counsel and law‑enforcement where required.
• Manage relationships with local external counsel and regulators, acting as the principal point of contact for authorities on cloud, content and broader regulatory matters.
• Provide regional regulatory coverage and strategic guidance across all business groups, supporting government‑relations colleagues in policy dialogue.

Required profile

• LL.B. or equivalent from a reputable institution; admitted to practice with an active lawyer’s licence in at least one jurisdiction.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in regulatory and compliance work, preferably in‑house at a multinational technology or internet company or at a top‑tier international law firm.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Southeast Asian regulatory landscape and hands‑on experience with licensing, statutory registrations and compliance frameworks.
• Experience handling regulatory investigations, enforcement actions or government engagement with sound judgment under pressure.
• Strong product sense and curiosity about cloud, content and internet business models.
• Proven ability to partner with senior business leaders in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
