Japanese Language Teacher – Middle & High School

About the role

Stamford American International School is seeking a qualified Japanese Language Teacher for its Middle and High School programmes. The role involves designing and delivering Japanese Language & Literature and Japanese Language Acquisition across the IB MYP, IB DP and other curriculum pathways, while contributing to the school’s mission of academic excellence and student well‑being.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver Japanese language curricula for IB MYP/DP, College Board AP, BTEC and Stamford courses.
• Engage a culturally diverse student body, recognising individual strengths, identities and learning needs.
• Support students’ holistic development through formal programmes and pastoral contributions.
• Collaborate with colleagues and communicate with a range of stakeholders to uphold the school community.

Required profile

• Qualified to teach Japanese Language & Literature and Japanese Language Acquisition to Grades 6‑12.
• Minimum three years of teaching experience with middle or high school students.
• Preferably three years of experience with IB MYP/DP, AP or similar programmes.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork and English communication skills.
• Proficiency with school information systems, databases and educational technology.
