Legal Counsel – Commercial & IP

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join a reputable legal team supporting a global technology platform operating across the APAC region. The role focuses on product development, intellectual property protection, and commercial growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with product, sales and marketing teams to provide real‑time legal advice and long‑term IP strategy.
• Advise business units on complex commercial and regulatory issues throughout the product lifecycle, from development to launch and distribution.
• Anticipate cross‑border IP challenges and coordinate with in‑country counsel or external vendors to allocate resources proactively.
• Ensure alignment of sales and marketing activities with local laws and regulations across APAC.
• Liaise with global product and project teams, supporting initiatives that intersect with US and EMEA markets.

Required profile

• 4–7 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) in a Tier 1 law firm or equivalent.
• Strong background in Intellectual Property, commercial transactions and product‑related legal matters.
• Demonstrated experience supporting product, sales and marketing functions.
• Excellent ability to build rapport quickly and work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds in Asia and overseas.
