Medical Statistician – Clinical Research & Data Analysis

About the role

We are seeking a Medical Statistician to provide statistical leadership for clinical and translational research projects at the TTSH Rehabilitation Centre and Institute of Research Excellence (IREx). The role will support study design, data management, analysis and reporting across multi‑centre, multidisciplinary programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, coordinators, IT and bioinformatics staff to design studies, calculate sample sizes and develop analysis plans.
• Perform statistical analyses using R, STATA or other tools, interpret results and produce clear tables, figures and reports.
• Conduct data quality checks, resolve inconsistencies and support electronic data capture systems.
• Contribute to scientific manuscripts, grant reports, conference presentations and other research communications.
• Work with software engineers and IT teams on database development and data management solutions.
• Deliver educational programmes on data management and biostatistics in partnership with TTSH CRIO.
• Ensure all statistical work complies with Good Clinical Practice, regulatory and ethical standards.
• Participate in research meetings, provide statistical input and support administrative documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or Medical Statistics; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in clinical or translational research statistics (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of GCP, clinical research processes and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
• Hands‑on experience with statistical software such as R and STATA.
• Familiarity with electronic data capture systems.
• Working knowledge of SQL and general programming concepts.
