Part‑Time Lecturer – Lighting and Rendering Pipeline

About the role

The School of Art, Design and Media at Nanyang Technological University seeks a part‑time lecturer to teach DT2005 Lighting and Rendering Pipeline, an undergraduate course starting January 2027. The course introduces fundamental lighting and rendering techniques within the 3D animation pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures and tutorials covering lighting design, colour, shadow, atmospheric effects, materials, shaders and rendering concepts such as global illumination and physically based rendering.
• Guide students through creative projects, providing peer and instructor feedback to produce original computer‑generated imagery.

Required profile

• At least a Master’s or PhD in Animation, Visual Effects or a related field, with a proven track record in 3D lighting, look development or rendering.
• Relevant industry experience; past undergraduate teaching experience is preferred, though exceptional candidates with a Bachelor’s and strong industry background may be considered.
