Principal – Private Capital, Singapore

About the role

Oliver Wyman, a management consulting firm of Marsh McLennan, is hiring a Principal for its Private Capital practice in Singapore. Private Capital advises private equity firms and their portfolio companies on deals and post-transaction outcomes, and supports corporations through M&A transactions. The Principal leads complex client projects and aspects of the client relationship and commercial process alongside Partners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the execution of individual project modules, including developing hypotheses, collecting data, building models and analyses, and conducting primary and secondary research
• Support the Partner group in project delivery through accurate, high-quality case execution
• Own and develop executive client relationships, present to a wide range of audiences and work day-to-day with clients and stakeholders
• Build business by identifying new and expanded opportunities, developing thought leadership and building a personal brand
• Develop others and build a strong personal brand within and outside the firm
• For Manager hires: manage and develop the capabilities of junior consulting staff

Required profile

• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience, ideally at a top-tier strategy consulting firm or in project-based, team-oriented environments
• Track record of leading and managing teams or work streams and delivering against tight deadlines
• Strong background in strategic problem solving with demonstrable analytical skills
• Financial services industry knowledge, with breadth across or depth within one practice area preferred
• Ability to apply content knowledge for thought leadership and to lead business development activities
• Outstanding communication skills and confidence presenting to senior executives
• Undergraduate and/or advanced degree from a top academic program
• Willingness to travel
