Red Team Consultant – Offensive Security Specialist

About the role

PWC is seeking an experienced offensive security professional to join its Technology Risk Services practice. The consultant will lead end‑to‑end security testing engagements, including red‑team, purple‑team, penetration testing, cloud and AI security assessments, helping clients strengthen their security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Emulate real‑world threat actors using MITRE ATT&CK tactics, techniques and procedures on client environments.
• Conduct purple‑team exercises with blue‑team counterparts to evaluate detection coverage and improve response processes.
• Develop custom tools, payloads and automation scripts to support engagements.
• Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and source‑code reviews as required.
• Collaborate with PwC’s threat intelligence team to design and execute attack simulations.
• Produce comprehensive technical and executive‑level reports and presentations.

Required profile

• 1‑5 years of hands‑on offensive security experience (depending on grade).
• Experience in consulting or client‑facing cybersecurity roles.
• Strong written communication skills for technical documentation and client delivery.
• Ability to work with blue‑team stakeholders to enhance detection and response capabilities.

Required skills

• Red‑team and purple‑team operations.
• Penetration testing and vulnerability assessment (VAPT).
• MITRE ATT&CK framework knowledge.
• Custom tool development and scripting for security engagements.
• Cloud security, container security, and CI/CD security.
• Detection engineering, hypothesis‑driven threat hunting, and SOC workflow familiarity.
