Research Fellow – Civil Engineering

About the role

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a one‑year Research Fellow to advance a project on coastal underground seawater intrusion and freshwater resource utilization. The role involves independent research, collaboration with the principal investigator, and mentorship of graduate students.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory and field tests on sustainable construction materials.
• Prepare project reports and draft scientific manuscripts for peer‑reviewed journals.
• Assist the principal investigator in writing research proposals and supervising student researchers.

Required profile

• PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or Hydrogeology from a reputable institution.
• Research experience with soil hydraulic properties and groundwater movement in soils.
• Strong publication record (minimum five journal papers).
• Proven ability to write scientific documents and communicate findings effectively.
• Experience supervising research students and contributing to proposal development.
• Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with initiative.
