Senior Community Manager, APAC

About the role

Scape, a Swedish remote‑first game studio, is launching the multiplayer climbing game Gravity on Steam Early Access. We need a senior‑level community professional to build and nurture our player community across Greater China, Japan and Korea, starting from day one.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and grow the Chinese‑language community, targeting the first thousand members.
• Manage official channels on Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, Douyin, Heybox, WeChat, QQ and Steam, ensuring compliance and verification for a foreign studio.
• Coordinate with the Lead Commercial Manager to engage creators, clipper networks, and organize regional events and live play sessions.
• Recruit, brief, and oversee volunteer moderators for Japanese and Korean communities, establishing clear escalation procedures.
• Plan and host AMAs, developer Q&As, and play‑night sessions in both Chinese and English.
• Monitor community health daily, escalating critical issues while handling routine matters independently.

Required profile

• Fluent spoken Mandarin with excellent written Simplified Chinese skills.
• Deep understanding of the Chinese social and gaming platform ecosystem (Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, Douyin, etc.) and how foreign companies operate on them.
• Experience building and managing online gaming communities, preferably in a live‑service environment.
• Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, working closely with community, commercial, and development teams.
