Senior Software Engineer – Google Pay (Singapore)

About the role

Google Pay is expanding its footprint in Asia, and the Singapore team drives core features for millions of users. As a Senior Software Engineer you will own large‑scale product areas, building next‑generation capabilities that keep the service reliable, secure, and engaging.

Key responsibilities

• Write, test, and ship production‑grade code for Google Pay services.
• Lead or participate in design reviews, evaluating technology choices with peers and stakeholders.
• Review code from other engineers, ensuring adherence to style, testability, and performance standards.
• Maintain and improve documentation and educational content as the product evolves.
• Diagnose, debug, and resolve system issues, assessing impact on hardware, network, and service quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of software development experience in one or more programming languages.
• Minimum 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.
• Experience with software design and architecture.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing and code review.
