Senior Staff Sales Engineer (Remote – Singapore)

About the role

Cockroach Labs is seeking a Senior Staff Sales Engineer to qualify and close opportunities, provide technical expertise, and drive adoption of CockroachDB. The role combines sales engineering, solution design, and customer advocacy in a fast‑moving AI‑enabled database market.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside the sales team to introduce CockroachDB to potential customers and design solutions that meet diverse challenges.
• Lead product and solution briefings, build proof‑of‑concepts, run live demos, and prototype CockroachDB integrations.
• Partner with product management, engineering, and support teams to solve customer challenges and improve the product.
• Identify and address technical objections, developing engineering strategies to remove adoption blockers.

Required profile

• 10‑12+ years of experience collecting requirements, developing solution architectures, and leading presentations for software similar to CockroachDB.
• Background in developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
• Passion for complex technical problems and strong understanding of modern infrastructure and database technologies.
• Proven ability to build relationships with partners, customers, and open‑source communities.
• Demonstrated practice of integrating AI tools into daily workflow.
• Willingness to travel to meet customers, attend events or conferences.
