Technician - GEL

About the role

Micron Technology is seeking a Technician to support its GEL (Global Engineering Lab) environment. The role focuses on the setup, maintenance, and calibration of research and engineering laboratory equipment, ensuring reliable performance for cutting‑edge projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform setup, installation, qualification, preventive maintenance, and calibration of R&D and engineering laboratory equipment.
• Monitor tool performance and uptime; diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software‑related issues.
• Execute equipment repairs, rebuilds, modifications, and upgrades to meet evolving engineering and business requirements.
• Support laboratory infrastructure readiness, equipment qualification, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate documentation, records, and inventory within equipment tracking systems.
• Prioritize and respond to service requests to meet customer and operational needs.
• Ensure strict adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards, including PPE, lockout/tagout, and chemical safety.
• Operate and maintain equipment according to engineering specifications and company safety guidelines.
• Assist internal and external audits by ensuring equipment compliance and documentation accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and vendors to deliver timely, high‑quality technical solutions.
• Utilize approved AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code) to improve productivity and support data analysis, reporting, and documentation.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with laboratory equipment setup, maintenance, and calibration.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, electronic, and software issues.
• Familiarity with EHS practices such as PPE usage, lockout/tagout, and chemical safety.
• Strong customer focus and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and external vendors.
• Willingness to adopt AI‑enabled tools to streamline routine tasks.
