Urban Designer – City & District Planning

About the role

Arup is seeking an Urban Designer to join its Cities & CPD team in Singapore. The role will support city‑scale and district‑scale design and master‑planning projects across Singapore and Southeast Asia, from concept development through to implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare urban design outputs including conceptual diagrams, presentation graphics and visualisations.
• Develop urban design concepts and spatial strategies under project leadership.
• Contribute to masterplans, urban design guidelines and presentation materials at various project stages.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in workshops, discussions and stakeholder communications.
• Support bids, proposals and business development by creating urban design and graphic deliverables.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Urban Design, Architecture, Urban Planning or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in leading design practices with a focus on urban design or master‑planning.
• Membership of professional institutions or progress toward accreditation is desirable.
• Familiarity with Singapore’s planning framework and Southeast Asian development contexts is an advantage.

Required skills

• Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop.
• Proficiency in Rhino, AutoCAD or SketchUp.
