2027 Summer Internship – Portfolio Management, Special Situations Team, APAC

About the role

PIMCO, a global leader in active fixed income investing, offers a 10-week summer internship in its Special Situations Team, APAC, based in Singapore. The intern analyst focuses on underwriting and helps source, structure and execute transactions across APAC jurisdictions, with exposure to all stages of the investment process. The team deploys capital across several funds and asset finance sectors, including private equity, public equity, mezzanine, senior debt and structured finance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and underwrite complex investments in the asset-backed finance space
• Develop and maintain cash flow models for potential investments and support their ongoing management and value maximization
• Prepare investment memos for senior portfolio managers and investment committees
• Assist with due diligence, including business plans and coordination of legal, technical and commercial underwriting
• Support financing activities, including evaluating financing options, legal coordination and lender negotiations
• Conduct market research to identify new investment themes

Required profile

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree, expected to graduate December 2027 to June 2028
• Able to start full-time employment at a PIMCO office between January 2028 and August 2028
• On track to achieve a minimum bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
• Business-proficient English; proficiency in an Asian language is a plus
• Availability for the full 10-week programme, from early June to mid-August

Required skills

• Research skills and basic financial modeling
• Strong communication, written and oral presentation
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once
• Preferred: private equity, hedge fund or investment banking internship experience
• Preferred: experience using emerging technologies and AI tools
