2H University Intern - Implant Process Engineering

About the role

GlobalFoundries is recruiting a 2H University Intern for its Implant Process Engineering team in Woodlands, Singapore. This is a 20-24 week credit-bearing internship open to students starting from June 2026. The project aims to develop robust, high-volume manufacturable protocols for phosphorus-to-arsenic surface cleaning and conversion, reducing phosphorus cross-contamination in arsenic-doped semiconductor wafers. Interns receive one-on-one mentorship, growth-focused work assignments, professional development and networking with executives.

Key responsibilities

• Learn the fundamentals of ion implantation processes and equipment principles, and become proficient in implant tool operation and handling.
• Analyze historical data on phosphorus contamination incidents in arsenic-implanted wafers.
• Carry out a comprehensive literature review to identify potential mitigation strategies.
• Apply the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) methodology to design evaluation plans and tailor solutions to the current fab environment.
• Develop a detailed implementation roadmap for proposed solutions and perform cost-benefit and productivity impact assessments.
• Manage the project by collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives.
• Work safely and comply with all Environmental, Health, Safety and Security requirements.

Required profile

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or a related field through an accredited programme during the internship.
