Manufacturing Technician 3

About the role

Illumina is hiring a Manufacturing Technician 3. The role covers sub-system alignment, calibration, functional testing, troubleshooting, instrument final integration and system testing, producing high-quality products under general supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble electro/optical/mechanical sub-systems requiring calibration and functional test according to standard operating procedures
• Troubleshoot components and integrated systems, and align complex optical systems using in-house software and instruments
• Assemble and align laser-based equipment, perform functional tests, final integration and full system test
• Perform final product QC, inspection and packaging, and collect and analyse data
• Process work orders, interpret quality data and support continuous improvement, 6S and Lean activities
• Support material kitting, packaging and crating, and run periodic inventory checks and cycle counts
• Enter transactions in MES and ERP systems, and report and manage non-conformances in the NC platform
• Coordinate with the Equipment Team on scheduled maintenance and trainees, and provide training and assess trainee competency

Required profile

• Experience with FDA-regulated medical device manufacturing
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Able to distinguish colours (yellow, blue, red and brown) to identify components and chemicals
• Previous experience in fast-paced corporate environments with similar work
• Preferred: engineering diploma (mechanical, electrical or mechatronic) and 2-4 years of related experience

Required skills

• Knowledge of SOPs, WIs, GMP, 6S and Lean is a plus
• Understanding of compliance and safety requirements
