Accountant – Finance Team (Singapore)

About the role

Kennedys is seeking an Accountant to join its Finance team in Singapore. The role supports the Senior Finance Manager in overseeing the firm’s accounts receivable function, ensuring compliance with local GST regulations and international accounting standards while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely billing, collection and allocation of client payments.
• Monitor outstanding receivables and proactively follow up with clients, partners and matter teams.
• Review billing write‑offs, unbilled disbursements and investigate significant movements.
• Prepare and analyse accounts receivable ageing reports for management.
• Reconcile client accounts and resolve billing or payment discrepancies.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore GST requirements and internal accounting policies.
• Provide audit support by supplying relevant documentation and reconciliations.
• Mentor junior finance staff and review their work for accuracy and timeliness.
• Identify and implement process improvements for accounts receivable controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA or equivalent) required.
• 5‑7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
• Strong understanding of Singapore GST regulations and compliance.
