Accountant – Fleet Management

About the role

The Accountant will provide financial administrative services for the Fleet Management department, ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations in line with internal policies and external regulations. This role reports to the Accounting Manager and supports the company’s global trade activities.

Key responsibilities

• Drive timely submission and review of monthly management accounts with analysis of vessel operating expenses and management costs.
• Consolidate financial performance and position of the company, subsidiaries and associated entities for audits and internal reporting.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting for vessel CAPEX and dry‑dock projects, including finalisation.
• Maintain accurate charter‑hire accounting, off‑hire calculations, provisions, EUA postings and unearned revenue adjustments.
• Oversee bunker inventory accounting, insurance claim provisions and GST compliance.
• Coordinate annual budget and periodic forecasts, prepare flash reports, BOD packs and EXCO presentations.
• Liaise with statutory auditors, address audit queries and ensure minimal audit points.
• Identify workflow improvements, design system‑generated reports and participate in process‑enhancement projects.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy or related field, or professional qualification such as ACCA.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, preferably with financial planning & analysis and audit exposure.
• Detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving abilities and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, and a collaborative team player.
