Accounts Assistant

About the role

The Jewish Welfare Board is seeking an entry‑level Accounts Assistant to support its finance team in Singapore. You will handle day‑to‑day accounting tasks, ensure accurate record‑keeping, and assist with month‑end closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable transactions, including data entry, journal posting, invoicing, and payment matching.
• Track outstanding payments, follow up with customers and donors, and reconcile AR/AP discrepancies.
• Maintain and reconcile bank accounts and POS transactions, investigating any variances.
• Update fixed‑asset schedules, balance‑sheet item schedules, and extract financial data for reporting.
• Assist with weekly supplier payments, staff claims, payroll preparation, and petty‑cash management.
• Support monthly and annual closing by preparing journals, schedules, and reconciliations.
• Perform ad‑hoc finance or administrative tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Diploma or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, high integrity, and ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
