AI Engineer (AI Solution Branch)

About the role

The AI Engineer develops and operationalises AI solutions that support critical energy sector operations and regulatory functions. The incumbent works with data scientists and engineers to design, test and deploy AI/ML models across their full lifecycle, and sets up and manages MLOps practices including CI/CD/CT pipelines, automated retraining, performance monitoring and model governance. The role also involves technical leadership and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Work with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to design, test and implement AI/ML models for the organisation's use cases, leading the development of production-ready solutions.
• Establish and maintain MLOps foundations from code commit to model retirement, including CI/CD/CT pipelines, version control and automated retraining with performance monitoring and data drift detection.
• Engage senior management, data scientists, business users and vendor/IT teams, and turn complex AI outputs into actionable insights for non-technical audiences.

Required profile

• Higher tertiary degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science or a related quantitative field; AI certifications are advantageous.
• At least 5-10 years of experience developing, deploying and maintaining enterprise-grade AI/ML models in production.
• Demonstrable experience across the full MLOps lifecycle.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and systems thinking, with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning and reinforcement learning.
• Python and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow and Pandas.
• MLOps tools and practices, including CI/CD/CT pipelines and model monitoring.
• Model optimisation techniques such as quantisation, pruning and knowledge distillation.
